An internal Accenture memo seen by 404 Media says that starting Oct. 1 the firm centrally funds only $29 a month per person for Claude Enterprise; usage above that must be billed to a project. Some employees said their usage ran $500 to $1,000 a month.

Accenture has told many employees it will centrally fund only $29 per person per month toward Claude Enterprise usage, 404 Media reported on Oct. 15, 2026, citing an internal announcement it reviewed. The change took effect Oct. 1.

Per the memo, “all costs are consumption-based”: use above $29 must be charged to a specific project or team budget, which Accenture calls a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). 404 Media reports Premium plans include $250 in token usage a week, but many employees are not on Premium. The memo adds that getting a license “does not guarantee indefinite or ongoing access,” and licenses may be reallocated.

Internal messages seen by 404 Media include an employee whose usage exceeds $500 a month, another who uses Claude Code to build a client “AI accelerator” at about $500 to $1,000 a month, and a third whose access was revoked. These accounts are as reported by 404 Media.

An Accenture spokesperson told 404 Media: “At the foundation, we make AI available to all our people. Our approach today is to provide the right tool for the right work, and we continue to invest in AI capabilities, skills and enablement.”
